Seventeen people were arrested Thursday in a major multiagency sting operation targeting shoplifting on Santa Rosa Avenue.
The Press Democrat reports undercover officers focused on major retailers like Target and Marshalls in what the District Attorney called a “pre-Christmas Santa Rosa blitz.” The operation was funded by a $2 million state grant aimed at cracking down on retail theft rings.
DA Carla Rodriguez said the focus is to arrest repeat offenders and reverse the growing trend of retail crime in the county.
