National Park Service officials in California are searching for two people accused of throwing rocks at an elephant seal.
The incident happened at Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County and was captured December sixth by a livestream camera at Chimney Rock. The video shows the seal being struck by rocks while resting on the beach.
Officials say elephant seals are protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act and other federal wildlife laws, and the suspects could face significant penalties if identified.
