Rohnert Park Couple Pleads Guilty To Illegal Fish Market

A Rohnert Park couple has pleaded guilty to running an unlicensed fish market out of their home for over a decade.

Per the Press Democrat, Richard and Shalley Tran admitted to illegally selling and bartering sport-caught fish—ranging from tuna to mackerel—harvested along the California coast. State investigators say the pair bypassed nearly all commercial regulations, including licensing and catch tracking, which officials say directly undermines fishery management and fair competition.

As part of their plea deal, the Trans forfeited sixty-six-thousand dollars in cash and their fishing gear. They are also banned from all fishing activities for one year.
