A late-night wanderer is back home after a close call on a Sebastopol roadway.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports during the height of Wednesday morning’s winter storm, Sebastopol police responded to reports of a loose horse near Bodega Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road. Arriving just after 4:00 a.m., officers were able to contain the animal and keep it out of traffic despite heavy rain and high winds.
North Bay Animal Services arrived with a trailer two hours later to safely transport the horse. Police confirm the owner has since been located, and no other livestock escapes were reported during the storm.
