Hayward Man Arrested Following DUI Patrol In Cotati

A 24-year-old Hayward man is behind bars following a targeted DUI patrol in Cotati this past weekend.

Per the Press Democrat, police stopped Lorenzo Laurean around 8:30 Friday night after spotting his vehicle weaving on Rohnert Park Expressway. Upon searching the driver and his car, officers reportedly discovered multiple bags of cocaine and a loaded, 3D-printed “ghost gun” hidden under the driver’s seat.

Laurean faces a litany of charges, including DUI and carrying a concealed, loaded firearm while in possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest was part of a “saturation patrol” funded by a state cannabis tax grant. Unlike routine shifts, these officers focus exclusively on impaired drivers. Over the weekend, Cotati Police arrested a total of eight people for DUI-related offenses.
