A crowd of over 200 people gathered in downtown Santa Rosa on Saturday to voice their opposition to a string of fatal shootings involving federal immigration authorities.
The protest, held at Old Courthouse Square, was sparked by a deadly encounter in Minneapolis involving a federal officer and follows the January 7 killing of Renee Good by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Activists from the local Democratic Socialists of America organized the event on a compressed timeline, yet still managed to draw a significant turnout of residents demanding accountability and an end to federal agency violence.
