Sonoma County Winegrowers Announce New Executive Director

In a major leadership shake-up, the Sonoma County Winegrowers have named Jennifer Dieckmann as their new Executive Director, signaling a strategic pivot to save the region’s struggling wine industry.

The Press Democrat reports as California faces its smallest grape crush in 25 years, the organization is moving beyond just promoting grapes to helping local wineries sell off massive inventories through high-profile national partnerships—including a new ‘first-of-its-kind’ wine club with the San Francisco Giants.

While the move blurs the lines with the recently downsized Sonoma County Vintners, leaders from both groups say this level of ‘survival-mode’ collaboration is essential to keep vineyards in the ground and help the industry weather a slump that could last through 2028.
