Santa Rosa is one step closer to letting you take your beer or wine to-go, with city leaders officially backing a new ‘entertainment zone’ pilot program for downtown.
Per the Press Democrat, under the proposal, visitors would be able to stroll with open containers between Old Courthouse Square and Railroad Square on weekends, a move aimed at revitalizing local foot traffic and business.
While planning is moving forward for an early 2026 launch, officials are still fine-tuning the safety details, including wristband requirements and how to manage the zones with a stretched police force.
