Four-Member Committee Will Decide Downtown Petaluma Hotel Project’s Fate

After years of heated debate, a final decision on a new luxury hotel in downtown Petaluma could come later this month—but not from the City Council.

The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports an obscure four-member committee will meet on February 24th to review a scaled-down, four-story version of the project, which developers proposed after a citizen referendum blocked their original six-story design.

Because the new plan fits existing zoning rules, city officials say their power to block it is limited, meaning this long-vacant lot at B Street could see construction start sooner rather than later.
