Second Wave Of Flu Spreading Through The North Bay

Health experts are warning of a second wave of flu infections hitting the North Bay, with positive test rates at local clinics jumping from 8% to 20% in just a few weeks.

The Press Democrat reports infectious disease experts say the current strain is particularly virulent, and they expect a “tremendous bump” in cases following large Super Bowl gatherings and festivities across the Bay Area last weekend.

While wastewater data shows some mixed signals, officials say hospitalizations are on the rise and are urging residents to remain on high alert as the season continues through April.
