Santa Rosa City Schools Trustee Roxanne McNally has resigned, effective immediately, citing the physical and mental strain of balancing her board duties with her full-time teaching job.
The Press Democrat reports the announcement comes just 24 hours after the board approved a massive round of staff and program cuts to address the district’s severe budget crisis. McNally, who was elected in 2022 and served as Board President in 2025, represented Area 2 in Northwest Santa Rosa. Her departure is the second health-related resignation for the board in less than a year.
Board President Nick Caston says the district will fill the seat by appointment. Applications open on the district’s website February 25th, with a new trustee expected to be seated this April.
