A Santa Rosa man is behind bars after a disturbing Valentine’s Day incident on the 900 block of Sonoma Avenue.
Police arrested 54-year-old Salvador Arroyo Avina Saturday afternoon after a resident caught him on camera performing lewd acts in a carport and intentionally contaminating vehicle door handles with bodily fluids. The victim reported that Avina also tried to enter the home before fleeing.
When officers caught up with Avina nearby, they found him in possession of narcotics and the personal ID information of more than ten people. At the time of his arrest, Avina was already out on four separate pre-trial releases for other criminal cases, including a previous charge for indecent exposure.
Due to his extensive record and the nature of the crime, a judge has set Avina’s bail at $400,000. Investigators are asking anyone with additional security footage from the Sonoma Avenue area to contact Santa Rosa Police.
