Santa Rosa Woman Facing Murder Charge Following Last Week’s Crash In Petaluma

A Santa Rosa woman is facing a murder charge today following a deadly DUI rollover crash in Petaluma that happened late last week.

The California Highway Patrol arrested the driver Tuesday morning immediately upon her release from the hospital. Investigators say she was traveling southbound on Highway 101 in a BMW on the night of February 11th when she lost control on the rain-slicked road. The car overturned just south of Petaluma Boulevard South, ejecting two passengers.

One of those passengers, a woman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while a second passenger was hospitalized with major injuries.

The CHP noted that the driver, who was also seriously injured in the wreck, has a history of impaired driving, including a prior DUI arrest and crash back in 2022. She remains in custody on suspicion of homicide and felony DUI.
