A Santa Rosa man will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars following a staggering sentence handed down in Sonoma County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Juan Ferrel-Gonzalez was sentenced to 342 years to life in prison after being convicted of sexually molesting four children over a ten-year period. The abuse, which occurred between 2008 and 2018, only came to light when one of the victims bravely stepped forward to report the assaults to a school counselor.
Prosecutors say the length of the sentence reflects the severity and duration of the crimes committed against the minors.
Ferrel-Gonzalez was found guilty on multiple counts earlier this year.
