A Southern California woman has died following a tragic kayaking accident in Tomales Bay.
Authorities say 37-year-old Brigitte Manspeaker of Los Angeles was on the water Saturday evening with her boyfriend and their dog when their boat overturned. Rescuers found the boyfriend clinging to the vessel, but he reported that Manspeaker lost her life vest after being thrown into the water.
She was located 200 yards away and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The couple’s dog was safely recovered by crews.
