Sonoma Valley is getting ready for disaster season with a hands-on Emergency Preparedness Fair coming to Altimira Middle School on Wednesday, April 15.
The event is a joint effort between the local Community Health Center and the Department of Emergency Management, timed perfectly for California’s Earthquake Preparedness Month.
The star of the show will be the “Big Shaker,” the world’s largest mobile simulator that lets you feel the force of a massive 8.0 magnitude earthquake in a safe environment. Families can also pick up free emergency supplies, check out interactive demos from local first responders, and enter raffles for safety gear.
The fair runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and is completely free for all community members looking to protect their loved ones before the next big emergency hits.
