Petaluma authorities are searching for leads following a series of three suspicious fires that broke out across the downtown area late last month.
According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, the spree began early March 25th with an unoccupied RV becoming fully engulfed on Copeland Street, followed by two separate vegetation fires set just thirty minutes apart the next night.
While the Petaluma Fire Department managed to extinguish all blazes without any reported injuries, investigators believe the fires were intentionally set. Police officials expressed deep concern given the region’s history with devastating wildfires, noting that even small blazes pose a massive risk to public safety.
As of this week, no suspects have been identified, and the department is urging anyone with information to come forward.
