A Friday afternoon crash on Highway 1 has left one person dead and two others hospitalized.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Yardarm Drive when a Tesla driver pulled onto the highway and into the path of an oncoming pickup truck towing a trailer.
The driver of the Tesla was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger from the same vehicle was airlifted to a nearby trauma center with major injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck sustained moderate injuries.
Investigators remained on-site into the evening to determine the exact cause of the collision.
