Napa County commuters should prepare for a major detour this week as a stretch of Highway 29 shuts down for overnight construction.
Caltrans officials announced that both northbound and southbound lanes between Oakville Cross and Rutherford roads will be fully closed starting at 10:00 p.m. this Thursday, April 23.
The roadway is expected to remain closed until 6:00 a.m. Friday while crews work on essential culvert replacements. During these hours, traffic will be rerouted to Silverado Trail, so travelers should allow for extra time. This closure is the latest phase in an ongoing infrastructure project that has caused several periodic delays throughout the region.
Check your route before heading out to avoid getting caught in the construction zone.
