The Santa Rosa City Schools Board meets today, April 22, to interview three candidates for the vacant Area 2 trustee seat.
The Press Democrat reports applicants Teresa Medina, a youth program coordinator; Shaun Du Fosee, a retired Sheriff’s sergeant; and Don Gibble Hernandez, a longtime tutor, are competing to finish a term left by Roxanne McNally.
The winner will join a district grappling with severe financial distress, including a recent $35 million budget cut and the upcoming closure of six campuses. Public interviews are set to begin this evening, with the board poised to appoint a new member immediately following the session.
Candidates must live in the northwest Santa Rosa area to qualify for the appointment.
