The Sonoma Valley community is invited to honor the 75-year legacy of Prestwood Elementary at a special farewell event on Friday, May 1.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports the celebration will feature live music from Trainwreck Junction, food trucks, a petting zoo, and a display of historical memorabilia dating back to 1950. While the school is slated to close at the end of this academic year due to declining enrollment, the campus will begin a new chapter as the home of MacArthur Park Charter School in 2026.
Organizers say the evening is a tribute to the generations of families and teachers who made the school a community cornerstone.
The “Farewell to Prestwood” runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on the school’s blacktop and field.
