Santa Rosa emergency officials will be keeping close watch of a sliding hillside mass during today’s powerful storm. The slow-moving slide is threatening six properties near Cooper Drive. Two homes were red-tagged on Sunday, after being deemed uninhabitable because of the damage already suffered, and the impending risk of more damage. Sandbags and large plastic tarps have been draped over the hillside in hopes of keeping more water from seeping into the soil. The Santa Rosa Fire Department says it’s been monitoring the area since the storms of early January.
