The County of Sonoma hosted a Zoom meeting on Monday afternoon to share details about the proposed managed homeless encampment on the county complex at Ventura Avenue. Supervisor James Gore said that part of the reasoning behind this particular location, is so that the Board itself will be held accountable and keep the situation top of mind.
“The fact that we do have this and there is a certain amount of accountability that it’s in our front step, not our back step,” said Gore. “I think there is a certain point of accountability that we have to hold.”
Management of the site would be handled by DEMA Management and Consulting. The full audio from the meeting is posted on the County’s Facebook page.
