Sonoma County Supervisors Tentatively Approve New Camping Ordinance

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is advancing a series of changes to the county’s public camping ordinance. The ordinance restricts where people are allowed to stay on public property overnight. The revised regulations would officially be adopted if they’re passed with a second formal vote on April 18th. It would be the first time the camping ordinance is updated in nine years. Camping would be banned on all public property within the county’s jurisdiction outside local cities between seven o’clock in the morning and nine o’clock at night. The boundary areas where overnight stays are banned would also be moved.
