Vaughn Duffy Wines Wins Top Award at North Coast Wine Challenge

A Kenwood winery took home the top prize at the North Coast Wine Challenge. Vaughn Duffy Wines won Best of the Best for its 2021 Pinot Noir as well as Best of Show Red and Best of Sonoma County awards. It’s the first Pinot Noir to win the challenge since 2018. Other notable winners: Husch Vineyards’ 2022 Dry Gewurztraminer took home Best White, Scharffenberger Cellars’ Brut Excellence took Best Sparkling, and Rodney Strong’s 2022 Rosé of Pinot Noir won Best Rosé. Sponsored by the Press Democrat, nearly 1,200 wines entered the North Coast Wine Challenge and there were 30 judges, including winemakers, journalists, and wine directors.
