A man accused of shooting at a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department helicopter has died. Kevin Lewis Thornburg from Geyserville was accused of opening fire on the helicopter last September. It’s unclear when or how the 63-year-old man died. Following his death, Thornburg’s case was dismissed in Sonoma County Superior Court on April 18th. He had been charged with several crimes, including assault with a gun on a peace officer and making criminal threats.
