AT&T and Fire Victim Trust Look to Settle Claims from 2017 and 2018 Wildfires

The Fire Victim Trust is seeking to settle claims with AT&T. They are entering into mediation this week with the telecom giant over the loses AT&T accrued during the 2017 North Bay wildfires and the 2018 Camp Fire in Butte County. AT&T claimed PG&E owed more than $238-million dollars for equipment, lines and revenue lost but their claim was placed into the Fire Victim Trust. Two other private companies have settled their claims with the trust: Adventist Health settled for $200-million while Comcast settled for an unknown amount. The mediation comes as individual fire victims have received only 60-percent of the damages awarded to them.
