Meanwhile, the heat is coming but cooling centers are not. The County of Sonoma and other local governments are not planning to open any cooling centers for this weekend’s excessive heat warning. This despite parts of Sonoma and Napa Counties could reach 110 degrees during the warning. Caritas Village in downtown Santa Rosa will provide air conditioning and water to homeless individuals who need it. Also, the Windsor Senior Recreation Center is open during the summer as a “Cooling Safe Haven” Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 4 PM.
