Sonoma County Focus – Canine Companions

Host Michelle Marques talks with Michelle Williams, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist, Northwest Region for Canine Companions. Canine Companions started in Sonoma County in the 1970s and is now the largest service dog training organization in the country. Dogs are trained basically from birth starting with puppies bred for the right temperament and skills to be effective service dogs to children, adults and veterans. Volunteers act as puppy raisers, getting young puppies ready to enter professional training. Canine Companions provides dogs to clients at no charge, and therefore they rely on donations and volunteers to keep their organization going! You can help today by getting an adorable 2024 Puppy Calendar (they make great gifts!) or you can sponsor a puppy for $240 (or just $10 per month for two years.) There is also an event this weekend called SANTA PAWS at Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa where you can get a digital picture of your pet with Santa for just $25. Western Farm Center is located at 21 West 7th Street in Santa Rosa. Come by on Saturday, December 2nd from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, December 3rd from 10am to 3pm. Learn more at canine.org
The Good Stuff – Aniysa Fritz of Lynmar Estates
In this episode of The Good Stuff presented by the Sonoma County Winegrowers, hosts Virginie Boone and Karissa Kruse talk with Aniysa Fritz, Proprietor and Experience Manager at Lynmar Estates. She shares her experience refocusing the customer experience at Lynmar Estates by remodeling the tasting room, expanding the gardens, creating a private events program, and exploring food and wine pairings with Executive Chef David Frakes. Aniysa talks about her experience as an educator and how that influenced her decision to take over the TED Talks in Sonoma County. (Fun fact - The Good Stuff show got its name from Karissa's TED Talk!) Anisya continues to teach Wine Business courses at nearby Sonoma
State University, consult with several global humanitarian relief organizations and lecture worldwide on
humanitarian logistics. And finally, Virginie and Karissa share their Tuesday Night wine picks.
