The Good Stuff – Amy Gutierrez (Amy G)

In this episode of The Good Stuff presented by the Sonoma County Winegrowers, hosts Virginie Boone and Karissa Kruse talk with Amy Gutierrez, award-winning broadcaster and author, about wine, baseball, and enjoying the Good Stuff! Amy G recently helped Sonoma County Winegrowers tell the stories of Sonoma County grape growers to Giants fans and Karissa shares some exciting news about the future of this relationship. Amy G talks about how many feel intimidated about baseball and think if they don't know everything about the sport, they can't fully engage in the enjoyment of the game. The same could be said about casual wine drinkers. But Amy G sees a connection between these fans of baseball and wine, and wants everyone to feel comfortable, regardless of expertise. She also talks about her podcast Girl, How'd You Get That Gig? And finally, Virginie and Karissa share their Tuesday Night wine picks.

Sonoma County Focus – SoCo Adapts

sonomacountyfocussquare

Host Michelle Marques talks with Caerleon Safford, Program Manager for Permit Sonoma, Fire Prevention Division and Ivan O'Neill, Co-Founder and CEO of Madronus Wildfire Defense about the SoCo Adapts program. Through grants from FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and other grants, this program is offering FREE assessments for both Defensible Space and Home Wildfire Risk for certain properties in Sonoma County. These are not code enforcements, these are free assessments to help you identify things to do to keep your home and property safe by reducing risks. Some of these risk reductions projects could be as simple as cleaning out your gutters, or moving a wood pile from the side of your house. In Phase Two of the program, you can apply for rebates on projects to reduce wildfire risk, however you will need to have completed an assessment first, so sign up today! If you are not included in the areas currently marked for free assessments, you can still sign up to be notified when the program expands to cover more areas.
