Mayor Elward talks about coming to Sonoma County from the Democratic Republic of Congo to raise a family with her husband, and being inspired by world events to run for office. She was not deterred after losing her initial bid, and was elected to the council in 2020. Mayor Elward shares her experience with a racial slur that was aimed at her after a heated council meeting, and her determination to react with love and continue her work serving the community she loves. She also talks about how important it is to see people of color and younger people engaging with local government and having more representation in local government.

Brice Cutrer Jones recognized the unique terroir of the Hallberg Ranch, situated on Gold Ridge with its well-draining soils. He waited until the property became available in 1999, and decided to use dry farming, which produces balanced, elegant wines. Their debut vintage came in 2004.
