About John Deere

John Deere is one of the world’s most recognized agricultural equipment manufacturers, known for its iconic green and yellow machines and its deep roots in farming innovation.

Founded in 1837 by blacksmith John Deere in Grand Detour, Illinois, the company began with a simple but revolutionary idea: a polished steel plow that could cut through tough Midwestern prairie soil more effectively than existing cast-iron models. That innovation laid the foundation for what would become a global leader in agricultural technology. Today, the company is headquartered in Moline, Illinois and operates worldwide, serving farmers, ranchers, contractors, and landowners across more than 100 countries.

*Roofing Tip of the Month*

  1. Watch for Overhanging Branches

First thing, if you’ve got tree branches hanging over your roof, that’s a problem waiting to happen. Not only can they scrape and wear down your shingles, but in a storm, they can snap and cause major damage. Keep branches trimmed back at least 6–10 feet from your roof.”

  2. Keep Gutters Clear of Leaves

Trees and clogged gutters go hand in hand. When leaves and debris build up, water can’t drain properly, which leads to rot, leaks, and even foundation issues. Regular gutter cleaning, especially in the fall, but summer too, is key to protecting your roof and your home.”

  3. Watch for Moss, Debris & Moisture Build-Up

When trees shade your roof, it holds moisture longer, which can lead to moss, algae, and faster shingle deterioration. If you’re seeing dark streaks or green growth, it’s time for a professional cleaning and to possibly thin out those trees to let more sunlight in.”

Bottom line—your trees might look beautiful, but if they’re too close to your roof, they could be quietly causing damage you don’t even see yet.

In the second half of the show, Arcangel Martinez with Ultimate Tree Service joins the show to talk about his business, what people should look for when hiring a tree care company, the company's focus on sustainability, proper pruning techniques and some other tips every homeowner should be doing/watching out for when it comes to their trees.
