The Good Stuff – Dutcher Crossing Winery

In this episode of The Good Stuff presented by the Sonoma County Winegrowers, hosts Virginie Boone and Karissa Kruse talk with Debra Mathy, Proprietor of Dutcher Crossing Winery in Dry Creek Valley. Debra shares her journey to becoming the proprietor of Dutcher Crossing, buying it in 2007. Many visits to wine country with her father helped her understand more about the industry and make valuable networking connections. She loves cycling, and that is why there is a vintage penny farthing bicycle in her logo. (She also has a bike with a sidecar for her dog!) Under Debra's ownership, the portfolio for Dutcher Crossing has expanded from 6 or so wines to over 30 wines. Debra trusts her winemaker Nick Briggs to create delicious, interesting wines for the brand. Be sure to say hi to Lady the Wine Dog when you visit Dutcher Crossing! And finally, Virginie and Karissa share their Tuesday Night wine picks.

Ask the Expert: Dr. Walter Tom – Solutions for Tired Eyes

aesthetic

Dr. Walter Tom of Dr. Tom Cosmetic Surgery talks with Karina Lozano, surgical liaison, about solutions to address tired eyes. Botox can relax muscles in the frown area between the eyes and on the outside corners of the eyes to give you a more wide eyed appearance. Filler in the cheek area can help restore volume and bounce light back into the eyes, making them appear brighter. Renuva (or fat off the shelf) can also be injected into the eyebrows and into the hollows in the temple area to open up the eyes. And finally, EZ PRF Gel can be injected under the eyes to improve the health of the skin in that delicate area.

Raise the Roof with Letitia Hanke – National Black Business Month and Nature Pacific Pest Services

In today’s episode, Letitia Hanke, CEO of ARS Roofing and Founder and Executive Director of The LIME Foundation opens the show with details National Black Business Month. There are many Black-owned businesses in Sonoma County to support this month and all year long! Here is just a short list of those that Letitia recommends: Legacy BBQ, Red Rose Catering, Saucy Mama’s, Big River Coffee Company, Café Frida, Sebastopol Cookie Company, Table Culture Provisions-Petaluma, Fog Crest Vineyards, ARS Roofing and Gutters, Fondare Finish Construction, and Core Electrical Services. Letitia also shares tips on keeping your roof and home safe during fire season:

1 – Roof and Gutter Cleaning Embers from a nearby wildfire can be blown by the wind long distances. If there is debris on your roof or in your gutters, those embers can ignite and catch your home on fire.

2 – Install Gutter Screens Fire resistant gutter screens will keep leaf debris from clogging your gutters and reduce the risk of fire.

3 – Inspect Your Roof Prepare for the upcoming winter season with a roof inspection. ARS Roofing and Gutters normally charges $450 for this service, but if you mention Raise the Roof we will do the inspection at no charge! Call now at 707-584-5900.

The NextGen Trades Academy has just graduated another class of 62 students! If you are looking for someone eager to start a career in the trades, learn more at The LIME Foundation.

Mark your calendar for the 9th Annual Believe in the Dream Gala coming up on September 12th at the Graton Event Center. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
