Raise the Roof with Letitia Hanke – Earth Month and Jim Persons of Safety Pride

In today’s episode, Letitia Hanke, CEO of ARS Roofing and Founder and Executive Director of The LIME Foundation shares a few ways you can celebrate Earth Month. Take part in a community clean-up event - these happen all over, from neighborhood events to restoring natural habitats at the coast or along rivers and streams. Whenever possible, reduce, reuse, and recycle! Choose eco-friendly products when you shop. And connect with nature by heading outdoors! A hike, gardening, or a picnic in the park connects you to the natural world and fosters appreciation for the environment.
Letitia also shares tips on how to pick a roofer or other contractor:
1 - Consider how long a company has been around - longevity counts!
2 - A certified contractor will use parts direct from the manufacturer, which means the warranty also comes with that. This gives you peace of mind.
3 - Check reputations on sites like Yelp and ALWAYS check to make sure their license is in good standing. Visit this site to check on the business/contractor BEFORE you hire anyone or sign any contracts.
Letitia thanks supporters of The LIME Foundation, including Sonoma Clean Power, Impact 100 Redwood Circle, and Redwood Credit Union.
Mark your calendar for the 9th Annual Believe in the Dream Gala coming up on September 12th at the Graton Event Center!
In the second half of the show, Letitia chats with Jim Persons of Safety Pride. Jim has been in the industry for thirty years, providing safety training, safety audits, and safety programs for all kinds of companies in California. He has served as the Safety Consultant for the North Coast Builders Exchange and the Northern CA Engineering Contractors Association. He recommends staying on top of current regulations by visiting the Cal/OSHA website, and networking with others at events like those hosted by the Redwood Empire Remodelers Association.
Tune in next month on Tuesday, May 7th at 12:30 for the next episode of Raise the Roof, featuring guests Korin Robles and Keehay Jackson of Better Invested Property Management.

At the Table – Ramini Mozzarella
Host Clark Wolf talks with Audrey Hitchcock, owner and cheesemaker at Ramini Mozzarella. Audrey shares the story of her path to making mozzarella di bufala with milk from her herd of water buffalo, along with her husband Craig Ramini, starting their operation in 2009. Tragically, Craig passed away in 2015 after a battle with cancer. Audrey has continued to take care of the herd, and only milks once a day, leaving the other portion of the milk for the calves, keeping mothers and babies together. The latest challenge that Audrey is facing is the loss of her lease for her property. She is keeping her herd at two different locations in Sonoma, and is looking for investors to buy property and get back to milking the buffalo and making her amazing cheese. Click here to learn more about Ramini Mozzarella and where to find her cheeses. And if you have a lead on an investor, reach out to Audrey via email by clicking here.

Dr. Tom finds it is also very helpful for those with rosacea or ruddiness, and those with visible veins on the skin surface. Dr. Tom is also excited to use another light therapy called BBL (broad band light) with produces even better results and causes less discomfort. And finally, Dr. Tom shares details of laser hair removal, which can be very helpful for removing unwanted hair all over the body.
