The power is back on for most PG&E customers after it was shut down in an effort to reduce wildfire risk. The Press Democrat reports the blackout ended for most people in Sonoma, Lake and Napa counties last night, about 24 hours after it was initiated. However, hundreds of people are expected to remain in the dark through today. PG&E cut the power to more than 17-thousand customers in Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties after Cal Fire issued a Red Flag Warning Saturday for Northern California and some of Southern California.

But some people in Napa County aren’t happy with how long it’s taking PG&E to restore power to dozens of lines shut off due to high fire danger and strong winds.

Calistoga Mayor Chris Canning is especially irked about the company’s decision to have workers personally inspect each line before turning power back on. He believes better technology exists to ensure line stability. PG&E says the lines are personally inspected to make sure there’s no debris or damage. Most of the power was restored late last night.
