A convicted California killer is asking for a new trial. Scott Peterson appeared in a San Mateo County courtroom yesterday via tele-conference. The Los Angeles Innocence Project has taken his case and wants a new trial. Peterson is serving time for killing his pregnant wife Laci in 2002 and dumping her body in the San Francisco Bay. The couple lived in Modesto and the case made national headlines. The court hearing was mostly procedural as mounds of evidence now needs to be gone through to determine if Peterson does deserve a new trial.
