Thousands turned out for the women’s rallies in Santa Rosa and Sonoma roughly one year from the demonstrations a year ago. Among several issues were the call for the improvement of women’s lives as well as the overturning of republican rule in the midterms later this year. The rally in downtown Santa Rosa appeared to be smaller than a year ago as according to the Press Democrat, each the Santa Rosa and Sonoma rally had about 2000 demonstrators each. Speakers were present at each event ranging from Supervisors to congressmen to residents sharing their displeasure with DC.
