Federal officials are blasting a California mayor’s warning about a raid by immigration agents.
That’s Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials said yesterday agents have arrested 150 people. But agents are still looking for more than 850 others who avoided capture after the mayor made what ICE calls a reckless decision to put out word of the coming raid last weekend. Oakland has declared itself a sanctuary city and refuses to cooperate with immigration officials.
