“Thicker Than Smoke: An Evening of Community Storytelling” Benefit is Coming to the Green Music Center

 

Author, storyteller and philosophy teacher at Sonoma Academy, Brandon Spars, describes this event arriving next Friday, August 3rd at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University, the benefit’s intentions when it comes to helping the community, how the sharing of these stories can help those suffering heal going forward, previews the Brad Paisley/Bonnie Hunt concert happening the very next day on Saturday, August 4th, previews some of the people who will be sharing stories, including KSRO’s Pat Kerrigan, writer Gaye LeBaron, firefighters, those now housed in shelters, first responders, doctors and more:

Since the expenses of the weekend events are being covered by generous donations from community sponsors, 100% of the ticket revenues will go to the Resilience Fund, a long-term relief fund overseen by the Community Foundation Sonoma County. The funds will be dedicated to first-responders who suffered losses in the fires, including the many who lost their homes while helping others.
