Another 16 inches of snow is possible by early tomorrow morning above elevations of seven-thousand feet near Reno. The National Weather Service said yesterday the heaviest snow was expected west of Lake Tahoe’s west shore, with winds gusting over the ridgetops up to 100 miles-per-hour. Meanwhile, the Heavenly Mountain resort closed for Thanksgiving Day because of increasing winds and heavy snowfall, but plans to reopen today. About eleven inches blanketed Kirkwood Mountain and seven inches fell at Northstar California near Truckee.
