A California sheriff’s office is releasing body camera footage of the beginning of the Camp Fire.

Butte County Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Parmley recorded the video earlier this month because he thought it’d be the last thing he’d ever see.  The video shows an ominous fire moving towards the town of Paradise, the charred remains of buildings, heavy smoke, and wind-swept ash starting to rain down.  Parmley was trying to find some people when his car broke down.  He ended up riding a bulldozer to safety.  88 people are confirmed dead in the fire and around 200 are missing.
