Many people have witnessed their homes, businesses, cars and personal belongings damaged or destroyed by the worst flooding the Russian River has seen in the past twenty years. Leaders of local nonprofits say that financial help is sorely needed. Nearly 1,900 homes and 600 businesses countywide have been impacted by the floods, causing an estimated $155 million in damages.
If you would like to help, the following organizations are collection donations for flood victims:
• River to Coast Children’s Services
• The United Way of the Wine Country, 707-528-4485.
• West County Community Services
• West County Health Centers (An automatic email will direct donors to a thank-you page, where donations can be designated for the patient hardship fund.)
