Marin County residents are a step closer to paying higher water rates. The Water District board voted unanimously this week to approve increasing monthly rates by about four-percent each year through 2022 and raising existing annual fees paid on property tax bills. It would also create a new “capital maintenance fee,” which would cost households anywhere from 163 to 409-dollars-a-year, depending on meter size. The board’s final vote on the proposal is set for May 28th after the required two-month public review period.
