Mendocino County will be preemptively shutting down more indoor businesses before the state acts. Dr. Noemi Doohan, the county’s Public Health Officer, said in a statement that she expects the county to be placed on the monitoring list soon. As a result, she’s issued a new public health order to go into effect July 17 at 11:59 p.m. that will close several indoor activities unless “they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up.” Areas affected include fitness centers, worship services, offices for non-essential sectors, malls and personal care services such as nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors; hair salons and barbershops. The news comes as Mendocino County now has 165 cases which include 6 currently hospitalized.
