Sonoma County Schools Wrap Up Vaccination Clinic

The vaccination clinic for school employees and educators will be closing next week.

Sonoma County Office of Education Superintendent Steve Herrington says that this is because they will have accomplished their goals. The last day for the office of education run clinic at the Rancho Cotate High School gymnasium will be March 25th. Any school employees who have not yet been vaccinated are encouraged to reach out to their employer to get information about how to be vaccinated at this and other clinics in the area.

Meanwhile, Sonoma County Schools Districts are being advised to still get their COVID-19 safety plans approved before reopening despite that step no longer being a requirement for reopening, now that we are in the Red Tier. County health and education officials made the recommendations Wednesday with Superintendent Herrington saying that these safety plan help manage risks, as SCOE is still liable for the safety of students and staff. The safety plans also improve parents’ confidence in returning their children to in-person learning. Twenty-nine schools and districts in the county have had their COVID safety plans approved with an additional 19 under review. Finally, the county’s largest school district, Santa Rosa City Schools, announced a deal yesterday with the Santa Rosa Teachers Association that will get elementary school students back on campus starting April 1st.
