Great progress has been made on vaccinating those in the wine industry.
Sonoma County Wine leaders on Monday announced that more than 95-percent of the 8,000 essential vineyard and winery workers have now been vaccinated. The campaign launched by the Sonoma County Winegrowers and Sonoma County Vintners was launched back in February with the trade groups able to set up block vaccine appointments for workers at community health centers. At their peak, a single site would serve up to 600 wine industry workers a day. Though the campaign is winding down, it remains accessible to wine workers in the county and is being looked at by state officials as a blueprint for other farmworkers in the county.
