The Orange Tier could come as soon as next week for Sonoma County. Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase says our overall testing positivity is in the Yellow Tier range at 1.7-percent and our testing positivity rate in the most vulnerable population is in the Orange Tier at 2.3-percent. And our adjusted new daily coronavirus infection rate is at 3.7 cases per 100,000 residents. If all three benchmark metrics remain the same or drop when the state reviews them on Tuesday, Sonoma County will qualify to move from the Red to the Orange Tier on April 13. Dr. Mase added that, while we are doing well, we want to move into the Orange Tier “safely and carefully, and avoid the surge that other states and regions have experienced or are experiencing.”
