California Schools Expect More Funding for Coronavirus Safety

The California Department of Education is discussing success stories and best practices to safely welcome students and teachers back to classrooms. They are bolstering efforts to reopen schools. The state has set aside money for public schools to upgrade their heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. State Superintendent Tony Thurmond says rapid COVID-19 testing is also helping schools bring students back. He says it’s important to continue conversations with various education leaders about how to reopen schools, how to stay open, and how to do it safely.
