Six community health clinics in Sonoma County are set to receive nearly $23 million to help with vaccination efforts in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The largest chunk, $8.5 million, will be going to Santa Rosa Community Health and the 2nd largest, $6.3 million, will be going to the Petaluma Health Center. Other funds will be going to the Alexander Medical Center in Healdsburg, West County Health Centers, the Sonoma Valley Health Center, and Alexander Valley Healthcare in Cloverdale. Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase tells the Press Democrat that this money will help promote more equitable vaccine distribution. So far, 61% of vaccine recipients have been white while 20% have been Latino. Whites and Latinos make up 63% and 27% of the county’s population respectively.
