A fourth commercial air carrier is coming to the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. The airport and Avelo Airlines, a new carrier with a Western US Focus, announced the deal yesterday with service between Sonoma County and Hollywood Burbank, Avelo’s base of operations. The maiden flight for Avelo will be April 28th with tickets starting at $19 each way. Sonoma County is one of 11 destinations being served by Avelo which also include Redding and Eureka. The new airline is backed by $125 million in private equity and will begin service with three single-class 189-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
